Noisy Doors in Anaheim
North Orange County · Same-day repair
View AnaheimA garage door should make some noise, but it shouldn't wake the house. When the sound changes, it's telling you which part is wearing out. We find the source and fix it, and most doors run far quieter when we're done.

Each sound points to a different part:
Swapping bare steel rollers for nylon rollers with sealed bearings is the biggest improvement on most doors. Proper lubrication of hinges, bearings and springs comes next, and tightening every bolt on the door and track costs nothing.
If the opener is the loud part, a belt drive opener in place of a chain drive makes a real difference. That matters most with a bedroom over the garage, a common layout in newer tract homes across the Inland Empire and south Orange County.
Most garage door noise is a maintenance issue. Two sounds aren't. A single loud bang followed by a door that won't lift is a broken spring. Grinding from the opener while the door doesn't move is the opener stripping its drive gear.
In either case, stop and call us rather than trying it again to see if it happens twice. For everyday noise, call for a free estimate and we'll get your door running quietly.
Homeowners across Southern California keep mentioning the same things: we show up when we say we will, the work is clean and careful, and the price is fair.
Tighten all the hardware and lubricate the hinges, rollers and bearings with a garage door lubricant. If it's still loud after that, new nylon rollers are the next step and usually do the trick.
Cold metal is stiffer and lubricant thickens overnight, so a door that needs service tends to complain most on its first run of the day. It's a sign the door is due for a tune-up rather than a separate problem.
Grinding that follows the door up and down usually means worn rollers or the door rubbing on the track. Grinding from the opener itself usually means a worn drive gear. Either way it gets worse with use, so call us and we'll pinpoint it.
